As you know by now, we are being married in Barre. Getting to Barre is easy... describing how to get to Barre is not. The problem is that there are many ways to get here, and they are all about equal....especially from the east. Some people prefer to take Route 9 (as the Ottavianis do). Some people prefer to take 290W to 190N, etc.
As a result, and despite the wishes of Laura's parents, we have decided not to included directions with the invitations. This was decided after even Laura and I debated which way to tell people to go. When we couldn't decide on the best way, we determined to let people decide on their own. We are trusting in the age of google and gps to get people here. Especially when so many folks are arriving from so many different directions.
That said, if you one of the few arriving from the North Shore or Maine, it is not necessary to pass through Worcester first if you do not need to. The best route is to follow Route 2 to Westminster, then travel south on Rte 62.
From the South Shore, incorporate some combination of 495, route 9, 290, and 190 as long as you end up on rte 122.
Once in Barre, the only tricky part is in the center of town. Travelling north on 122 you will have to turn left. It is farily obvious, but tricks some folks. There will be the library and then a large white home with massive columns. The left is just past that house. From there, it is 2.5 miles (approximately) to the left you make onto Old Dana Road. Travel two miles on Old Dana and Hartmans will be on the right hand side... can't miss it.

I am directionally challenged. I often call Alex at work in a panic on a regular basis to get to far away places like the Barre Post Office! If you are also directionally challenged, please do not be afraid to ask for more specific directions!
