Where do I stay?

We have reserved a block of 15 rooms at the Courtyard Marriot in Worcester. This is about a 35-40 minute drive from Barre. It is located near a bunch of dining options, but it is in Worcester.... which is as lovely as it is easy to pronounce. We have 15 rooms right now. You have a choice of a king with sleeper sofa for $89, or two queens for $99. We anticipate that we will have more than 15 rooms booked, but they will extend that pricing as long as you declare that you are with the Ottaviani-Clark party. We will have to release the remaining rooms by 7/17, or pay for the unbooked rooms. To reserve: At this time, folks may call 1 (800) 321-2211 or (508) 363-0300 and ask to make a reservation in the Ottaviani/ Clark Wedding Room Block

If you would prefer to stay closer, we are including a list of local B&Bs. We have confirmed availability, but have not reserved any rooms. This is our version of a North Central Massachusetts stimulus package, and would be thrilled to have you book here. Please note that when we called the B&Bs, their prices were typically much lower than the advertised internet price. Therefore, call to book, rather than using the internet! Also, mention that you are coming to Barre for our wedding.

In Barre:

Jenkins Inn: In a lovely spot, right on our town common. Close to our house and the wedding site. Pricey compared to the hotel, but probably makes up for it in ambiance and proximity. Also close to the ice cream counter... but, no kids under 12. (978) 355-6444 UPDATE: 3 $175 rooms and a $200 suite available (as of 4/8)

Stevens Farm: Another great spot, this time with a view. Located on the other side of town, this B&B is located a short hop from Alex's family farm. The Stevens are great neighbors, and sure to be great hosts as well. This is a working farm in the oldest part of town. Views out over the Ware River Valley are great. Can't speak for the accommodations in the least. About 3 miles from the town common. (978) 355-2227

Wholesome Hearth: This is located very near the common and the Jenkins Inn. The proprietors did a great job renovating this home and opening it up. I have conversed with Lisa on a few occasions and she is a sweetheart. Haven't heard much about the rooms, but the reviews look fine. (978) 355-6543 UPDATE: two rooms available, shared bathroom, 110/night

Petersham is a beautiful, quintessential New England town located adjacent to Barre, a few miles from the reception site. It is a little further away from "civilization", so take that for what it is worth. B&bs in Petersham include:
Winterwood (978-724-8885) UPDATE: Some NC folks have booked four rooms, a $150 room and $200 suite remaining
Colonial Hill, (978-724-0301) Colonial Hill is a working Alpaca farm
Clamber Hill (978-724-8800).

Rutland, which is between Worcester and Barre has the Gen. Rufus Putnam House (508-886-0200), which might have some interest for you history buffs out there.

For those of you reading this that live nearby, please feel free to mention any B&Bs that we may have missed.
